Quick update, NO CANCER! Erin is resting and star

Quick update, NO CANCER! Erin is resting and starting her road to recovery. Thank you all for the love and support you have shown my beautiful wife! We love you all!

We sent Tulip off to her slumber party at our Vet’s office tonight. They are lovingly caring for her overnight so I can have my surgery tomorrow and not have to worry about her (they are saints!) They will also use this time to evaluate her some more and see if they can come up with any more answers or solutions.

I also followed the advice from many of you (thank you!) and have an appointment set up to have her seen by an animal chiropractor to see if that will help as well.

And if everything fails and she ends up being paralyzed permanently, we will build her the best little wheelchair we can come up with, and make her an official service animal, and enroll her into programs where she can help bring joy to disabled children - (as a woman in Costco informed me I could do) because I just feel like the world needs more Tulips. 🌷

I miss my little flower girl already, but we will both be in good hands tomorrow, I can feel it. 💗✨

My conversations lately have been like…

“Hi, we need you to come in for your covid test and some more pre-surgery blood work”

“Oh, today? Okay, can I bring my special needs baby goat? She’ll be really good and quiet. She just lays in her little basket. I can’t leave her home alone.”

“I’m sorry, say that again…can you bring your baby?”

“My baby goat. g. o. a. t. My little goat”

Silence

…In the end Corey came with me and took his conference calls on the road and sat in the truck with her while I got my blood work done.

But first we had to pop into target to get more diapers for her - and I thought everyone would think we were straight up bonkers for bringing a baby goat, in a basket, in a diaper, into Target… but nope - everyone was like OH MMMM GEEE can I pet her?? and Tulip was like heck yeah they can pet me mom!! Do they want to head butt me too mom!? She was LOVING the attention… BUT… it took us 30 minutes to buy diapers and get out of Target and…

I was late for my appointment 😂

Snuggle time with Tulip and as soon as she gets sleepy she scoots/crawls into her pillow tee pee and takes a nap like this. She likes it cause it’s dark and cozy and safe in there and she thinks she’s hiding and no one can see her. I couldn’t resist snapping a pic of her little diaper butt and baby goatie hooves hanging out 💗 #specialneedsgoat

Trying to spend a little time each day with baby Nutmeg getting her used to being haltered and led (even the teeny tiny halters are too big for her - need to make her a custom rope halter), and getting her used to being kissed WAY too many times 😘🤷🏻‍♀️ I can’t help it she’s too precious. Also getting her accustomed to being groomed/ brushed, having her feet picked up, etc. She’s JUST like her mama - sweet as pie and loves to be loved on. 💗💕

Her little softer than silk mane still makes me laugh the way it stands straight up sometimes. What a character this little bub is.

Outdoor shower vibes 🚿

What do you think about an outdoor shower? Corey pretty much only showers out here now year round! I use it to treat myself. It is the best shower head in the house and gets the best water pressure!

This is baby Tulip, one of Prim’s Triplets. She

This is baby Tulip, one of Prim’s Triplets. She will be two weeks old on Monday and has become our special needs bottle baby due to a terrible accident she had about 5 days ago. This is her story…

It was another one of those days where it was sunny and warm and the weather app said there no storms or rain at all in our forecast. But all of a sudden a soft rain had yet again turned into an all out down pour. Within minutes it was flash flood type weather and our ravine was already filling up. I ran out there as fast as I could. I’m slower these days due to being very sick. I haven’t spoken much about this here but I am having a total hysterectomy and exploratory surgery next Thursday with my surgical gynecological oncologist (suspected ovarian cancer - but that’s a whole other story) anyway… I was already too late, little Tulip had slid down a small embankment from all of the rushing water and somehow suffered an injury. I found her immediately but her tiny back legs didn’t work at all (I thought they were broken). I ran her to the house and gave her a warm bath and checked her everywhere and couldn’t find anything wrong. We wrapped her up tight and Corey got her in the truck and he and my daughter drove her to the vet. Vet did X-rays and said nothing was broken and she didn’t have any outward injuries, but she did have nerve damage in her back legs. He gave her steroids and said she has the possibility of making a full recovery. 🙏🏻💗

So Corey got to work right away and put together this little wheel chair for her. It’s not perfect and we have some things to improve on for sure (better all terrain wheels and need to get her feet off the ground for now until she regains feeling) but it helps her get around and feel like the others. Without it she can only sit on her bum and it makes her sad 😢

The diaper is obviously because she has no control of her bladder and bowel right now and the sweater is because she gets very cold in the house 💜

Maggie is so gentle with the baby goats. This little girl is the smallest of all the kids and the “runt” of Prims triplets. She may be itty bitty, but she’s a strong little lady and nursing like a champ from mama so I have no doubt she will do great 💕

First official garden harvest! 🌿

We’ve been picking zucchini and cucumbers for a couple weeks, but this is our first time harvesting the crookneck squash and blackberries. We have SO MANY blackberries this year. I feel like I’m back in Washington with all of this rain and blackberries for days! Ha!

Lots of green tomatoes growing but just not enough sun or heat to ripen them yet. Never thought I would say that it’s not hot enough or sunny enough in Texas in JUNE! Crazy times y’all!!

We had 6 baby goats born over the weekend during some intense rain storms!! Chamomile had twins (one doe and one buck), Primrose had triplets (two does and a buck) and Licorice had one little buck making it 3 boys and 3 girls 💗 Our first kidding season has been a success!

Litttle Nutmeg is one week old! She has all the beauty of her mama and an extra dose of sass. She alternates between nursing, sleeping and running running running as fast as she can. She’s absolutely hysterical to watch. Her personality is the best and just look at those eyelashes! 💕

So. Much. Rain!! 🌧

We got the last two new garden beds and the supports for the other beds (that we never put on last year) finished a few days before all this rain hit. The beds are mostly planted with a few empty spots from harvesting our cauliflower, and it’s getting too warm to plant more so I will figure out something else to fill the cabbage bed 🌱 Also seeing lots of mycelium popping up in the beds from all the rain, a sign of healthy soil which I attribute to our homemade compost 💩

I’m sure glad we busted our butts and got the garden projects done because we’ve had a crazy amount of rainfall. Any low spot on the property is completely flooded and our ravine is a rushing river. I keep seeing Ginger trying to cross the river to get to the other side of the pasture with baby Nutmeg on our surveillance cameras, and she is giving me small heart attacks!! 😩🐴

As soon as the rain lets up a bit I will move her and baby to the other pasture away from the ravine.

Ginger had the sweetest little filly in the wee hours of the morning. We named her Nutmeg. Mama and baby are doing great!! 💞

I think Ginger must surely be waiting until Mother’s Day to pop that baby out, as it is looking like she won’t make it to Monday. With no crazy, dangerous storms looming in the forecast - that she could be purposely waiting for 🤦🏻‍♀️😩. I predict (hope) the little bean will make an appearance this weekend. 🤞🏻💕Today is day 338 of gestation...

I spy a little Stella Bella and she’s proud to s

I spy a little Stella Bella and she’s proud to show off her pen we built inside the left side chicken run so she can see the chickens and goats but can’t be in with them (without supervision). She has her own little patio and a pasture that she can play in that is adjacent to where the goats and chickens hang out so she can see them that way as well.

Her pen is predator proof since we built it inside the chicken run so we close the blue doors at night to keep her safe and sound 💙
